Titus diagnosed with cancer
Our beautiful thirteen year old Maincoon Titus has taken a terrible turn.  He has been diagnosed with cancer on his leg, some type of local sarcoma, fluid in his lungs  and an enlarged heart.

We brought him to the vet for a lion cut and to have his growth checked out for the second time.  The first time the results for cancer were negative.

When we picked him up we got a slew of  bad news and a very sick cat back.  He has not been the same since he was at the vet.  He is on diuretics and eating small portions of food, but not having bowel movements.  I personally feel the vet gave him way too much anesthesia.  He is not opening is eyes all the way and they are running. Also, he is sneezing frequently.

When he hears the cans of food opening he runs to the kitchen, but other than that he just wants to sleep away from his family.

At this point, we don't want to take him back to the vet.  He has to have gas even for a routine exam.  We would like to care for him at home until he passes naturally, but I don't want him to suffer.  We just feel the vet experience would be more stressful than staying at home.

Do you have any advice on where to go from here.  We love Titus dearly, he has been a member of our family for thirteen years and we never thought he would be departing so soon.

Thank you,

Lynn and George
